Money & Stuff

Scripture Reading Luke 12:13-21

I. We have been created to chase,  but what?

   A. Our culture says, “money and material things.” But when does it

       end?

Like the rich man in the story, contentment is out of reach when you chase wealth. (Luke 12:19-20)

   B. Jesus says, “Me.” It doesn’t have to end.

We gladly receive the material gifts from God, but do we receive the gift of contentment? (Ecclesiastes 5:19)

   C. The good news about being wealthy. (Luke 12:16-17)

   D. The bad news about being wealthy. (Matthew 19:21-22)

Take Away:

We are created to seek Jesus. Wealth becomes a problem when we seek the gift more than the Giver.

Next Steps:

___Commit to return next Sunday

___Commit to thank Jesus for the money and material gifts he has

     given you

___Commit to ignore culture’s call to want more

___Commit to recycle the blessings Jesus has given you
